Chakra is Sanskrit for wheel. They are also known as energy centres. There are seven major chakras in the main body. They have associated colours and functions. It is said that if the heart chakra is open, all other chakras will come into alignment with it. Meditation, Prayer, Creativeness and Love are all ways to help open and align the chakras. Surrounding yourself with white light helps to seal them.

5) THROAT – BLUE.
Situated: At the base of the throat
Function: All forms of communication

4) HEART – GREEN/PINK.
Situated: The centre of the chest in the heart area
Function: Emotional awareness, truth and love

3) SOLAR PLEXUS – YELLOW.
Situated: Just below the navel.
Function: Developing the ego, Self-esteem, Will and Power

2) SACREL – ORANGE.
Situated: Base of Lumbar Spine.
Function: Pleasure, Sexuality and Procreation

1) ROOT/ BASE – RED.
Situated: At the base of the Spine.
Function: Survival and Grounding
